Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire drive forward in collaboration

Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Police Authorities agreed a formal collaboration for a joint Civil Contingencies & Public Order Planning (with Search) Unit. Collaboration joint image

The unit will be operational from September this year.  The Unit will be led by Chief Inspector Mark Canning, who also leads the recently established Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire Dog Unit and the Firearms Support Unit.  This collaboration will save approximately £270,000 per annum.

Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire now have more formal collaborations in place than any other two forces in the country.  The work is already saving more than £1m per year – money that is being invested in other front line policing services.
